Last November, photographer +Thomas Hawk organized a big group of photographers decided to meet in Death Valley National Park for a weekend of shooting, socializing and just all around have some fun. And as big a group as +Thomas Hawk‘s Death Valley Crew was, it wasn’t uncommon for smaller units of photographers to splinter off to different locations around Death Valley. Especially with such spotty to no cell reception, there was no consistent way to communicate to others in the group. But one thing seemed certain, not one of us had to explore the large and desolate valley alone (or at least I hope nobody had to). A good old fashioned buddy system had naturally developed and I’m sure I’m not alone in saying it made for some good times.
And here’s Thomas himself on top of one of the bigger sand dunes at the Mesquite Flat Dunes with Googler and photogrpaher +Ricardo Lagos.
