When I was at the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley a couple of weeks ago, I had intended to climb up to one of the higher dunes to get some shots of the entire area. Unfortunately I didn’t quite make it to the higher dunes that morning, but there was at least one lone photographer that did! I spotted him from afar, standing patiently composing his shot all by himself on sand only touch by his own feet. He had been careful not to walk across the sides of the dunes and left the area almost untouched. Very considerate of him I think. So from where I was standing, I zoomed in as tight as I could and took this shot. Maybe next time I’ll make my way to the top again, since it’s been awhile since my last visit up the high dunes. But for now I’m okay with not having made it, because I probably would have been too focused on hiking up instead of looking around to spot this shot.
