Whenever I hit the road to head off into another adventure, I tend to have a lot of time to think about just about anything. Even as a passenger on a road trip I still have lots of things to think about. Nothing negative thankfully but just about things going on in this world and how my life is progressing. Again, thankfully, things are good with me. I’m in a good place and I definitely try not to take that for granted. And being on the road is one way to be reminded of how I must appreciate things in this life. Let me explain. Being on the road, specifically a highway when cars are moving by at high speed, it’s easy to miss things because of how fast they zip by. It’s just like life in my opinion. Life is going by so fast that it tends to be easy to miss things that might be right in front of our own eyes. Take this sunrise scene for instance. It’s not out of the question to think that a majority of people that were driving along on this road near Apple Valley completely dismissed this view. Not because they don’t enjoy scenes like this or anything like that, but it’s easy to have a bit of tunnel vision in the daily grind of the daily routine. Luckily for me, I’ve learned not to easily dismiss any scene. As a photographer my eyes tend to be constantly scanning wherever I am. And as a passenger I can get drive by shots like this despite speeding along. And heck, if I were driving I’m glad to say that I’m the type of driver that will pull over for a great scene especially if it looks like this.
