One of the reasons I made the drive up to the Easter Sierra area was to see the Fall colors. I had received word that they were starting to come in quite nicely in Bishop Creek Canyon, so I decided to spend a day there on my way back South from Mono County. As soon as I arrived within the Bishop city limits, I decided to head directly out to Bishop Creek Canyon to not only get some shots of the scene, but to also scout out the area so that I would have an easy time of finding things early the next morning. Driving through the mountains surrounding Bishop Creek was already such a joy, but as soon as I turned a corner leading to North Lake, my jaw dropped to the floor when I saw this scene. The colors may not have been as full as they would be later on in the season, but it was enough to put a big ol’ smile on my face. I pulled over and just stood there admiring the scene before taking out my gear.
Now that I’ve seen how beautiful this area is in person, I can honestly say it’s a place I’ll be visiting again and again in the years to come.
