Just this past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Holi Festival of Color at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork, Utah. It’s a festival that celebrates the start of Spring, and what a fun way to do it! There was a live band constantly playing music non-stop all day, all weekend long and colored powder was provided to help with the festivities. Colors were constantly being thrown around throughout the day but every few hours they would have an official color throw in which any able bodied person with a packet of color would launch as much as they can straight up into the sky.
This was from the first official throw of the festival on Saturday. As you might be able to tell, I was very close to the action. This is the first time I’ve attended such a festival so I thought about staying at a distance. But when I was actually there I decided there was no other way to shoot this other than to get in there among the crowd and into the color.
