As some may know, one of my favorite places to visit are the Verdugo Mountains in Glendale, CA. It’s nearby, the hike is steep, but easy enough to walk up on and the view from the top is always spectacular. There hasn’t been a condition where the view wasn’t worth the 2 mile hike up. For this particular occasion, I noticed this large tree about halfway up the mountain. This was the largest tree along the path and seemed to just stand alone with no other trees around it. It was almost as though this tree was meant to grow with and watch over the city. I’m sure this guy will still be there when my heart starts to go gray, so hopefully I’ll still be able to hike up there and visit for many years to come.
