Valley of clouds

Valley of clouds Valley of clouds

A day after a rainy day, I went along with a couple of photographers up to the peak of Mt Thom in the Verdugo Mountains. It was a bit cold and a long way up, but once we reached the top we saw that it was well worth our effort. Looking away from LA I decided to snap this shot of this valley. The clouds were so epic and making their way over the mountains to cover the land, ready to block out the sun. But the sun kept shining through trying to bring some warmth to those who lived below.

    Hey Mark,

I’ve been following your blog for a few months now. I’m heading down to Newport Beach for a conference next week and may be able to break away for a few hours on a couple or three occasions.  What are the best three or four places I should go to for picture taking?

Thanks for any tips you can provide.

Hey Al, thanks a lot for checking out my blog. I truly appreciate it. Well the obvious location to check out would be Newport Beach itself and the Newport Beach Pier. Balboa Island might also be a nice spot to check out if you have time to get there. 62nd  Street might also make for some interesting photos, and the Santa Ana River Trail is close to that as well. I’ve never been on the trail but walking along rivers is usually pretty interesting. I hope this helps! ;-)
