I’ve come to the realization that while I’ve posted many photos of the Tokyo Tower, I haven’t given the Kyoto Tower nearly as much love as I should. In all honesty, that’s in part due to the fact that I don’t really have many decent photos of the Kyoto Tower, but also because whenever I’m there I end up spending all of my time in other parts of the city, lost track of time and forget to setup somewhere for a better image of the tower. But I’ve been in a Kyoto kind of mood so I decided to dig through my RAW archives to look for a shot of the Kyoto Tower that I liked and luckily for me I found this one. I don’t quite remember where exactly I set up for this shot but I do know that this was at 300mm with my old Nikon D3S setup. The background was blown out originally but now that I know more about post processing (compared to several years ago) I was able to save the image and really show the distant mountains behind Kyoto Tower. I’ll have to make it a point to shoot the Kyoto Tower specifically next time I’m out there. And considering how often I’ve been to Japan and how comfortable I am out there I know I’ll be able to take my time and really find all of the choice spots for viewing this great building.
