江の島の住民 – Enoshima’s Residents

Gray cat 2 江の島の住民 Enoshimas ResidentsI recently saw a post from my friend @ll_browneyes_ll of a photo of some cats at a small shrine (a great photo) and it reminded me of some photos that I had taken of Enoshima’s feline residents. For those that haven’t been to Enoshima before or for those that have been but didn’t pay too much notice, there are cats all over the island that are very well taken care of, in other words overweight, and seem very lazy. They just lounge around without a care in the world. Imagine a real life Garfield, and many of him.

This guy came and sat right next to my foot while I was looking at a sign. He didn’t make a sound and didn’t move from this spot. He even let me take a couple of photos and he didn’t so much as move a paw.

Closed eyes 2 江の島の住民 Enoshimas ResidentsAs you can see these cats really don’t mind human beings at all. They don’t mind if you come right up to them, walk over them, around them, or in my case, stick a camera in their faces. ;-P
