Stare down

During my last visit to the Descanso Gardens in La Canada I was lucky enough to come across a pack of geese. They were just walking by looking to eat whatever they found (mostly the grass). I approached the pack slowly trying not to alarm them but this one guy was standing tall and keeping his eye on me. Neither of us made any aggressive moves, but we found ourselves engaged in a good old staring contest. Considering that he was there to protect the pack, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that he won. Very noble considering that he had to stand watch while the rest of the geese munched away.
