This is a view of the City of Angels from, you guessed it, the Hollywood Sign. This was during a very early morning as the sun was barely starting to rise. Off in the distance you can see the Downtown L.A. skyline as well as the entire county that surrounds it. To the left between the L’s, you can also make out the Griffith Observatory. I had to make my way down a steep hill to get this shot, and looking at my photos from this shoot has given me some ideas on different compositions of this sign, so I’ll definitely be getting back out there soon for another shoot.
As you can guess from the title, today, September 6, is my Father’s birthday. The reason I chose to dedicate this photo to him is because even though he’s happily retired and enjoying his days back in his motherland of the Philippines, he (and my mother) absolutely love Los Angeles.
So Happy Birthday Dad! This view is for you!
