Passing light

Passing light 681x1024 Passing light

Obviously one of the advantages I enjoy living in Los Angeles are the bridges that sit over the 110 Highway. Whether it’s at night or early in the morning, I can setup on any of the bridges, open my shutter and not have to worry about being bothered by anyone or anything. I can relax and enjoy the passing cars speeding off to wherever they need to go. Standing there watching them zoom by as nothing more than passing light always leaves me in a trance. I become totally enchanted and end up staying out there even after I’ve finished shooting. There’s just something that’s completely attractive about how these lights pass through the heart of the city. Maybe it’s because of the contrast between the high speed lights and the buildings that have been standing for generations. Or maybe I enjoy not having to drive on that very same highway. Whatever the case, I enjoy it and I’ll continue to enjoy it for as long as I live here.

Beautiful! How long was this exposed for?

I hated driving that stretch when I lived in LA.

@djblurb:disqus Hey thanks a lot pal! This was a 30 second exposure (f/13 ISO-100). Even at night with all of the traffic there was plenty of light. And I don’t think anybody really like driving through here. He he. ;-P
