When I last visited Abalone Cove Shoreline Park over in Rancho Palos Verdes, the tide was high, but it was still decent enough to be able to get up nice and close to the various rocks that called the beach home. With the rather bland overcast hanging above, I decided I would try and get low to the sand and rocks. But which rock? Well, I finally decided on this lone guy. This rock seemed like a lonely island, separated from the rest of the cluster. The scene actually reminded me of the thousands of islands that make up Indonesia. Not that I’ve seen the islands in person, but this is what I was reminded of. So I setup my tripod on a nice patch of sturdy sand, composed my shot and fired away.
