One spot that I’ve always found relaxing is deep underneath the Santa Monica Pier right by the water. It’s quiet with only the sounds of the ocean waves hitting the beach. Admittedly, as an adult I haven’t been here too often, but during my last photo shoot in Santa Monica I made it a point to get underneath the boardwalk for a little exploration and a calming reunion with the water. I was walking through the pillars and I noticed this red boat. My last visit here must have been longer ago than I though because I didn’t remember any red boats from past visits. This discovery felt fresh and new and was a real joy to find. Well, at least to me.
On a side note, I debuted this photo on Google+ a few days ago. That’s something new for me because I usually debut my new photos here (my humble little photo blog),. But with such a talented community of photographers that has developed on G+, it’s a lot of fun being able to share my work there among many of my peers and receive their feedback to help learn more about photography as well as improve my own skills. If you’re browsing around Google+ then feel free to follow me here and say hello.
