One thing that I love about getting up super early or staying up extra late to shoot a location is how different a place looks and feels when it’s totally devoid of the usual human life. This pathway underneath the Santa Monica Pier boardwalk is a perfect example of that. Usually during regular hours there’s a ton of people using this pathway to get from one side of the beach to the other or even just to get a break from the sun. But this particular morning it was so empty and lonely, not to mention that the ends seemed to magically extend and push farther away from each other.
