With no poppies in bloom me and a couple of friends decided to head to the California Poppy Reserve. But wait? If no poppies are in bloom then why go there you ask? Well to put it simply because we would have the entire location to ourselves. That and with seemingly endless fields of growing reeds we felt like there could be a great chance at a decent scene. The fields were very interesting and quite scenic for sure. But for me the area didn’t pop until sunset. The sunset on its own was interesting but not spectacular. What the sunset did provide was some beautifully warm colors on a cool evening. So I got down low and decided to grab this image.
I have others but this one stood out to me when I shot it. And at the time of writing this post it still stands out to me. Just goes to show that even with the larger landscape in mind the smaller things can still take the show.
