As of late, with property value increasing in various sections of Los Angeles County, I’ve been considering moving elsewhere. It’s not so much that rent continues to increase, but when you combine an increase in rent each year with a steady increase in population, traffic and overall noise, it just doesn’t seem worth it to live within the county these days. Admittedly, what keeps me where I am now is the fact that I have such easy access to the Verdugo Mountains over in Glendale, CA. When I want to get away without having to drive for several hours I know that I can head up to my beloved Verdugo Mountains for a view that remains ever faithful to folks that love epic and beautiful views. So whenever I have thoughts of leaving the county I can’t help but think about this view from these wonderful mountains. It would be a shame to lose such easy access to this location and as of right now, cost of living is still tolerable enough as long as I have spots like this to escape to. Of course, at the rate of increase I know I’ll have to leave the county eventually, because I would hate to be working just to pay bills as opposed to working to help me travel the world. It’s quite unfortunate that cost of living and all the crap that comes with it continues to increase but wages and such don’t match. But I’ll save that topic for another conversation. For now I’ll just think about this view and I’ll visit it as often as I can while I’m still nearby.
