Another day with a clear sky meant another day of me taking a walk. It’s been a bit chilly but with the sun shining down it helps to balance things out for me. I’ve been taking walks almost daily, especially since I haven’t been running or cycling consistently over the past couple of months. And if I don’t get out in some way, I tend to go a bit stir crazy. And with walking around it helps me keep my eyes sharp and on the lookout for some neat and interesting subject matter. Much like these two low hanging leaves that I came across during my walk. I really do enjoy simple things like this and as the saying goes, it’s the simple things that count. In a world full of mobile devices and the Internet, I find that it’s a pair of leaves like this that can always bring a smile to my face. I suppose it’s a product of enjoying the outdoors but overall, it works to keep my good mood going. 😉
On another note, some of you may have noticed that I’ve been posting quite a few iPhone photos on my blog as of late. Well, that’s because I wanted to take some more time to get back to the simplest camera that I had on me, and that’s my phone. I’m not trying to do a 30 day project or anything like that, I just wanted to keep things simple, both as an exercise in training my eye and also to see what kind of results I could get by doing everything on my phone. From taking the photograph, to processing the photograph as necessary, to posting to my blog right from my phone. It’s kind of funny that I’ve decided to do this considering that I’ve recently fallen out of the habit of constantly holding my phone. I just feel like that I’m not enjoying life to its fullest if my head is constantly buried in a device. And besides, my battery lasts pretty long since I’ve fallen out of the mood to hold my phone. He he. I’ve also come across some photographers recently that don’t seem to buy into the saying “the best camera is the one you have with you”. Talented individuals that are a bit too focused on top notch gear. So that also got me thinking about keeping things simple to keep my eye fresh and independent of the kind of gear I have. So if you enjoy these mobile shots, stay tuned for more because they’ll see some regular rotation on my blog from this point on.
