If there’s one thing that comes standard with kids, it’s toys. I had my share of toys growing up and it’s kind of neat to see how some toys have changed over the years. On the other hand, there are a lot of toy trends that not only stay the same, but seem to be more popular than ever. One such toy is the small little character figures that, back when I was a kid, sold for 25 cents in a gumball machine. These days these small little figures go for about $5 to $7 and come wrapped in a small bag not allowing buyers to know which character they’re getting beforehand. I like the idea of a mystery bag though because it reminds me of collecting baseball or basketball cards, hoping to pick up a pack with the special hologram card. But what’s not so cool about it is how much these little toys are. I suppose it just goes with cost of living, but with a bunch of nieces and nephews to buy toys for, I certainly miss the days when these things were only a quarter. He he. In this instance my niece had herself a brand new character from My Little Pony. She has a whole army of these ponies and it’s fun to see how happy she is to receive each one. Though you might not be able to tell that in this image. She noticed me with my camera and wanted to show off her little friend while she was holding it, but right when I snapped this shot she got distracted by the bubble machine. And sure enough, a few seconds later she was jumping around and dancing with the bubbles. He he.
